Rasmussen Arrives for Bulgarian Socialist’s EP Election Campaign

Ex-Danish PM and leader of the Party of European Socialists (PES), Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, is arriving in Bulgaria Saturday to help the Coalition for Bulgaria campaign the day before the EP elections.

Rasmussen, President of PES since 2004, will personally support Bulgaria PM Sergey Stanishev and his Coalition for Bulgaria ahead of Sunday's European Parliament elections.

Rasmussen will arrive in Bulgaria for a couple of hours on Saturday to campaign alongside Stanishev, who is the leader of the Coalition for Bulgaria and BSP (Bulgarian Socialist Party).

Rasmussen has always emphasized his support for BSP's policies and the current Bulgarian Government, due to their socialist leaning.
