Bulgaria to Officially Mourn Bus Accident Victims Friday

Bulgaria's Ministry Council declared Friday, May 29 as a day of national mourning for the victims of the tragic bus accident near the city of Yambol.
The Prime Minister, Sergey Stanishev and the Ministers appeal to citizens and political organizations to cancel all events.
The President, Georgi Parvanov, issued a special statement, expressing his deepest regrets and sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and the injured.
Parvanov canceled his entire participation in events planned for the next several days as well as the State sponsored prom night for orphan children. The event is rescheduled for June 9.
The President is scheduled to arrive in Yambol around 2:15 pm where he will first visit the hospital where the injured are treated.
In the mean time, PM Stanishev canceled his trip to the Black Sea capital of Varna and is said to be on his way to the accident's location. The Health Minister is also traveling there.
Stanishev has ordered a rescue team from the Cabinet's Hospital in Sofia to be dispatched to the area.
The Cabinet will discuss ways to help the victims' families.
