Bulgarian Police have blamed the financial crisis for the huge rise in burglaries in the Bulgaria capital Sofia.
The police reported Wednesday that they have seen a significant increase in burglaries over the past month, many of which have seen the desperate thieves climbing on to balconies in order to enter private apartments, Darik Radio reported.
Chief Inspector Mario Yanchev revealed that "some of the professional groups of burglars even have people working for them inside banks. They report to the thieves who are waiting outside the bank, when someone withdraws a large amount of money they are then followed to their office or home."
Yanchev concluded that it is important for the locks and not just the doors to private homes to be of a strong high quality.
