The Bulgarian humanitarian worker, Danka Pachova, who is held hostage in Northern Somalia, is alive and should be released soon.

The news was announced Friday by the Director of Bulgaria's National Intelligence Service, Gen. Kircho Kirov, in an interview for Darik Radio.

Pachova, who is a humanitarian worker at the "Action against Hunger" organization was kidnapped in Northern Somalia, close to the border with Ethiopia, six months ago.

Gen. Kirov said that the Bulgarian Intelligence Service had a limited territorial reach but that it was working with intelligence services of Bulgaria's partner states for the release of Pachova.

Kirov explicitly stated that he knew for sure that Pachova was alive, and that his "internal feeling" was that outcome of her kidnapping would be positive.
