PM Stanishev Launches Socialist Election Campaign "Bulgaria Reloaded"

Bulgaria's Socialist Prime Minister, Sergey Stanishev, gave Thursday the start of "Bulgaria Reloaded", the election campaign of his party targeting young people.

The national youth tour of the Bulgarian Socialist Party consists of a large truck and a Ferrari that are going to visit 40 cities and towns around the country from May 14 until July 3.

The campaign is headed by the BSP Secretary Kiril Dobrev, and includes young people from the Bulgarian Socialist Party, including the CEO of the state-owned cigarette-maker Korneliya Ninova, as well as the popular Bulgarian house/electro band Deep Zone Project.

"The aim of the campaign is to attract young people, and to engage them actively in politics, as well as to practically realize all meanings of the word "reloading" - "imparting new power", "creating a reserve", and "preparing a weapon for shooting", Dobrev explained.

The red truck and Ferrari campaign also promotes a number of slogans, including "Separate and Recycle" and "Let's Help Bulgarian Culture".

"I am happy with the changes that I see in the Bulgarian Socialist Party. I am sure that the modernization of the BSP and the left will continue", Prime Minister and BSP leader Stanishev said as he set off the big red truck and the Ferrari.

Stanishev is going to drive the Ferrari in the final stretch of the "Bulgaria Reloaded" Tour when right before it returns to Sofia on July 3.

The symbols of the Bulgaria Reloaded campaign are the track, the race car, and the pit box. According to its organizers, the track stands for Bulgaria's European way, the beautiful race car stands for the Bulgarian fatherland, and the pit box team are the thousands of young people who care about it.
