Hostage Drama at Turkish Resort Bank

Two armed man have taken several people hostage during an attempted bank robbery in the Turkish resort of Kusadasi, CNN Turk reported, citing a local senior official said.

The masked gunmen stormed the branch of the state-owned Vakifbank and overpowered the security guard, provincial deputy governor Celal Ulusoy told the NTV news channel.

Media reports say about 10 people are being held hostage in the bank.

"Police are trying to establish contact with the gunmen," Ulusoy said.
