Sofia Mayor and GERB leader, Boyko Borisov, has notified Bulgaria's Kremikovtzi steel mill unions that today will be the last time their members can protest in downtown Sofia.

The Sofia municipality press center informed that no protests would be allowed Wednesday due to a Japanese delegation visiting the center of Sofia and continued that today is the last day that the syndicates are allowed to protest downtown, with future protests to be held around the South Park in Sofia.

Over 1000 workers from Kremikovtzi continued their protests Tuesday, rallying over unpaid salaries and the imminent closure of the indebted mill, Bulgargaz have confirmed that they will stop the gas supply to the plant on Thursday, which will lead to the total shut down of all facilities at Kremikovtzi.

Kremikovtzi workers accuse the government of showing no interest in their fate and have pledged to approach the European Commission for help. They have announced further plans for more aggressive actions and a nationwide rally of the people working in the sector in a bid to protect the mill.
