Bluetooth Commercials Enter Bulgaria

The marketing company JT International have introduced the first Bluetooth technology based commercial in Bulgaria.

Numerous billboards of one of the biggest on-line betting companies are situated at public transport stops around Bulgaria's capital Sofia.

When you are around them and enable the Bluetooth of your mobile phone, you will be able to receive odds for the most popular sport games during the month.

Those kinds of commercials are well known and very efficient around the world, the Pari Daily said. During the Olympic games in Beijing 2008, Coca Cola invested EUR 9 M in such advertisements.

The mobile company Sony Ericsson, together with the US singer Christina Aguilera, caused a stir in Belgium in 2008 offering free songs and ring tones over such Bluetooth technology based commercial.

Bulgarians are familiar with the Bluetooth technology. 80% of the mobile phones sold in Bulgaria since 2000 are Bluetooth enabled.

Many companies have started using that kind of advertisement over the global financial crisis. It is a cheaper and much more efficient way to reach customers.
