Bulgaria Blue Coalition: No More Underhand, Criminal Machinations

The Bulgarian rightist Blue Coalition has said Saturday that it will not allow any more underhand and criminal machinations in political life.

The coalition issued Saturday a declaration as an answer to the statements made Friday by the Deputy PM from the Ethnic Turk Party (DPS), Emel Etem.

"Twenty years now DPS has been dealing with the hard task of political mediator in Bulgaria, in order to bring to life the left or the right. We have always wanted a state of equilibrium, and have never wanted to rule alone... It is a very difficult task, which will be appreciated one day... Voter chose us for this mission, because we, as a liberal centrist party, are the most stable one... The rightist parties should offer the Bulgarian voters good election lists... The rightist voters suffer from their self-centered leaders, and will punish them again by voting for some other political forces", Emel Etem said Friday.

"After they fused state and organized crime, the ruling parties are trying to destroy the true pre-election debate, and deal with the opposition by using illegal and criminal methods... The Blue Coalition is aware of the reasons for the panic among the ruling parties, and especially in DPS... Ahmet Dogan created corrupted, criminal and anti-Bulgarian party, ready to do everything to avoid justice and court trails", the rightist declaration said.

The Blue Coalition also reminded that DPS had huge political responsibility over the collapse of the current government, and again invited the party for public debates on important social issues.

The Blue Coalition is composed of the two biggest rightist parties in the Bulgarian political life - the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), and the United Democrat Forces (UDF).
