Russia Energy Minister: South Stream Cheaper than Nabucco

Russia's Energy Minister, Sergey Shmatko, declared Saturday that gas prices of the "South Stream" line would be lower than those of "Nabucco".

Shmatko represents Russia at the Sofia Energy Forum "Natural Gas for Europe."

Despite the declaration, Shmatko stressed "South Stream" was not a competitor of "Nabucco", but pointed out "Nabucco" still had pending questions and no answers about the price of gas for European consumers and the delivery route.
