Bulgaria Hockey Player Alleged Murderer Arrested

24-year-old, Iliyan Todorov, has been arrested for the double murder of Vasil Alexandrov and Kiril Vazharov, who were stabbed outside a night club in Sofia on Saturday.

The alleged murderer is now being question by police in the Bulgarian capital Sofia after being arrested in Pernik early Monday. The Bulgarian Interior ministry reported that the man has no criminal record. The man was caught after the police studied security camera recordings from the crime scene, officials said.

21-year-old Vasil Naskov Alexandrov, and 24-year-old Kiril Vazharov were killed in a fight between two allegedly drunk groups of young people in front of "Solo" club in downtown Sofia around 4 a.m. Saturday, police officials reported. Both men were stabbed in the back, while trying to get away from the fight.

Vazharov was a goal keeper for Bulgaria's national ice hockey team. A third boy was wounded in the fight. He was immediately taken to to Sofia Institute for Emergency Medicine "Pirogov", and has now fully recovered.
