The temporary Parliamentary Commission on election legislation rejected the veto issued earlier Wednesday by Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov.

Parvanov, returned the Election Act to be reexamined by the Members of the Parliament (MPs) because he is opposed to the clause raising the coalitions' threshold from 4% to 8%.

The Commission officially proposed to the Parliament to support once again the amendments in the Election Act.

8 MPs from the Commission - from "Coalition for Bulgaria", the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) party and the opposition "Order, Law and Justice" party voted in favor of the decision to reject the veto.

3 opposition MPs - from the United Democratic Forces (UDF), Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), and the Movement "Forward" voted against the decision.

The MPs from the ruling National Movement for Stability and Progress (NMSP) of former PM and Tsar, Simeon Saxe-Coburg did not participate in the new viote.
