Bulgaria Export Falls by 27,7% in January 2009

Bulgaria's export decreased by 27,7% in January month-on-month over the negative effects of the global financial crisis.

That was announced by the National Statistical Institute Monday, as cited by Standart Daily.

In January the national export rate was BGN 1,57 B. The export for the European Union also fell down - by 20,5%.

On the other hand the import of good has decreased, mainly due to companies that shut down many of their capacities. Thus, the import of raw materials fell by 55%, and that of mineral oils and fuels by 53% in January year-on-year

Bulgaria's import rate shrunk by 33% to BGN 2,38 B, and the foreign trade deficit is BGN 680,7 M.
