Bulgaria’s Italian Businessmen Sign Confindustria Agreement

The Consultative Committee of Italian businessmen in Bulgaria signed an agreement late Thursday for cooperation with Confindustria.

Confindustria is the the largest Italian business association uniting more than 124 000 companies in Italy, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

Over 200 Italian registered companies currently function in Bulgaria and the members of the Consultative Committee provide 20 000 jobs in the country.

The agreement is a basis for close cooperation between the two business associations. Italy is one of the largest business partners for Bulgaria. According to information from the Institute on Foreign Trade and the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute, trade between the two countries in 2008 amounted to over EUR 3 B, up 0.4% from 2007.
