The team of Sofia Municipality defeated 2:0 the team of the government of Moscow in a football match played in Russia's capital on Wednesday.

The teams were led by the respective mayors, Boyko Borisov and Yury Luzhkov. The match on Luzhniki Stadium was an unofficial kick-off event for the "Days of Sofia in Moscow". In a previous game of similar format in Sofia, Borisov again defeated Luzhkov 4:1.

The Days of Sofia in Moscow are formally opening Wednesday night with a gala concert of Bulgarian veteran star singer, Lili Ivanova.

During the formal meeting of the two mayors, Borisov explained that Sofia's budget of BGN 1 B per year was a rather small sum to tackle all the problems of the Bulgarian capital compared to the USD 54 B budget of the Russia capital.

Borisov also praised the decision of the Bulgarian government to abolish tourist visas for Russian kids under 12 accompanying their parents for vacations in Bulgaria.

The Moscow Mayor Luzhkov expressed his satisfaction
with the increased Bulgarian fruit and medicines exports to Moscow

The two mayors also agreed that the "House of Moscow in Sofia" will be compensated with a new plot by the Sofia Municipality. Mayor Borisov currently does not allow any further construction of the "House" as he said he wanted to preserve the green space close to the Russian Church in downtown Sofia.
