Sofia Public Safety Vault Hit by Brazen Robbery

Police is searching for several men, who robbed a public safety vault Thursday night.

The incident happened around 9:30 pm in downtown Sofia near the intersection of "Alexander Stamboliiski" boulevard and "Kniaz Boris I" street.

Two men dressed as police officers rang the bell of the safety vault and were let in by the security guards. The men then beat and tied up the guards. Several other perpetrators joined in and smashed the unsecured metal safety boxes.

Different valuable objects, including gold jewelry and cash were stolen.

The police are conducting a second search of the location Friday morning.
