A 13-year-old boy from the Danube town of Kozloduy died during a tragic playground incident Monday while imitating the TV reality show "Fear Factor."

The information about the teenager's death was released by the Police in the Northern city of Vratsa.

Around 7:30 pm, the Kozloduy Police Precinct received a signal from people living near the playground that a boy's body was hanging from a monkey bar. The police patrol found 13-year-old Martin Martinov dead on the spot.

According to preliminary information collected by the Police, the boy had proposed his younger playmates a game imitating the extreme TV reality show "Fear Factor," currently airing on the Bulgarian TV channel "Nova Televizia" (New Television). The participants in the show compete by overcoming different obstacles.

Martin, reportedly, told his friends that he was going to show them how the game is played. He had wrapped a metal bike cord around his neck and locked it to the monkey bar.

The tragic death occurred when the boy could not reach the key to unlock the cord, which was laying on the ground nearby.

The other children, after realizing something terribly wrong had happened, either ran away in fear or tried to seek help from adults, who could not do anything to resuscitate the boy.

The Vratsa Police further informs that an autopsy is scheduled to find out if the teenager died immediately or could have been saved. The case is under investigation.
