Six major Bulgarian political parties put their election campaigns on hold and stood jointly behind the idea of "uploading" Bulgaria's administration on to the Internet.

Leading politicians from the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB), National Movement for Stability and Progress (NMSP), Napred (Forward) Movement, Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) and Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), promised that Bulgarian citizens would have online access to administrative services by the end of the next government's term of office.

Free access to state institutions' public registers for citizens, setting up a single system for information exchange between the Ministry of Interior, the state investigative bodies, the Prosecutor's Office and the State Agency for National Security as well as a joint system between the National Revenue Agency and the Customs Agency, were but a few of the proposals that emerged from the forum, organized by the Bulgarian Industrial Chamber inand Standart newspaper.

Both politicians and businessmen were categorical that public access to information on public procurements and concessions would be a measure to counter corruption and battle the grey economy.
