Tsanko Tsvetanov, father of the young man accused of the shocking murder of a 21-year-old woman, declared he would not interfere with the case.

Tsanko Tsvetanov, who is the leader of the right-wing Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) in the city of Varna, spoke in a special interview for Darik radio Sunday. Tsvetanov firmly rejected rumors that he would use his political ties to influence the investigation and stated that his son needed to serve his sentence if proven guilty.

The Varna Regional Court decided Monday to leave behind bars the son, Georgi Tsvetanov, who is charged with the atrocious crime.

The magistrates stated that the evidence collected against Tsvetanov was sufficient to back their decision. A picture of a naked woman in the victim's pose at the time of the crime's discovery has been found on the suspect's cell phone, while a bloody knife, blood stained clothes and underwear, allegedly belonging to the murdered girl, have been located at Tsvetanov's home. The Police have also confiscated from the home the victim's gold jewelry and her laptop. All were hidden in the laundry room along with the suspect's own, blood stained, clothes.

Georgi Tsvetanov, who faces life in prison, refuses to collaborate with the authorities, and continues to deny any involvement in the murder.

The body of the 21-year-old college student, Radostina Evtimova, was found in an apartment in Varna last weekend with over 50 knife wounds.
