Milk producers from all over Bulgaria attended a peaceful rally in front of the Agriculture Ministry on Wednesday protesting against the ineffective policy of the government in their sector, and the slow integration of the animal identification system. The system is required in order for a subsidy to be payed for each single cow a farmer owns.

"It is about time the government says clearly if there will be stock-farming in Bulgaria or not, because this is a very important branch and should not be abandoned", the head of the milk producers association in the Northern Bulgarian city of Pleven, Nikolay Romanov, said.
