The Mayor of Sofia, Boyko Borisov, declared Saturday that the Cabinet continued to mislead people and was going to have the same fate as the one awaiting the capital's waste removal concessioner.

Borisov, quoted by the BGNES news agency, spoke during a round table dedicated to the character development of Bulgaria's young people.

The Mayor stated that he had begun a procedure to terminate the contract with the "Novera" company, the concessioner in charge of waste removal in the capital, over their failure to clean 19 of the city's districts for over 24 hours.

Borisov also said that the BGN 6 M due to "Novera" for the month of January have been wired, but the company still wasn't cleaning the capital, adding he suspected someone had placed a "political" order.

The Mayor further accused the Cabinet of deceiving people the same way they were deceived by their electricity and heating bills and adamantly declared he was not afraid of being discredited.

"We strive during discussions such as this one to find the best model, hear the best experts have to recommend in the education sector - it is clear there is no left or right here, we have to seek national consensus. The trend of imposing the manipulated issues of violence, crime, and waste on young people' minds is extremely dangerous. We must work in the direction of modern education based on the sound Bulgarian tradition," the Mayor told the round table participants.

When asked about the issue of having separate elections for Members of the Bulgarian and European Parliaments, Borisov stated that it could pose some obstacles to the right-wing opposition parties, but would not in any way scare them and make them lose votes.
