A EP Delegation Arrives in Skopje to Assess the Progress of the Country

A delegation of the European Parliament today is in Skopje to assess the country's progress in European reforms and the readiness for possible accession talks, reported the Bulgarian National Television. 


Seven representatives of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, led by Estonia MP Tunne Kelam, will meet with the political leadership, the opposition and the representatives of civil society.

MEPs will also visit an EU-funded project to see how the European funds work in practice, and then Tunne Kelam will make a statement to the media.

The Delegation of the European Commission's Foreign Affairs Committee is composed of Kelam, who is also its chairman, a Romanian MEP from the European People's Party, German, Spanish and Hungarian MEPs.
