31 Bulgarian Companies go to the International Food and Drink Exhibition GULFOOD 2019 in Dubai with the Support of BSMEPA

31 Bulgarian companies will be able to participate this year at one of the most prestigious international food trade fairs - GULFOOD 2019, which is held from 17 to 21 February in Dubai, United Arab Emirates / UAE. The record participation of Bulgarian producers at the prestigious exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Economy through the Executive Agency for Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, which fully supports the costs of renting an exhibition area, constructing stand and registration fees for exhibitors.

GULFOOD is the largest specialized exhibition for the food industry in the Persian Gulf region. The event is organized annually, with the first edition in 1987. In the last edition of Gulfood in 2018, an exhibition area of ​​93,000 sq. M. 4 055 exhibitors took part and the visitors were over 66 595 traders and professionals from the food and beverage industry from 153 countries. The exhibition gathers leading industry specialists from around the world.

Up to now, BSMEPA has organized Gulfood participations in 2009 with a national stand featuring 13 companies, in 2011 a national booth with 10 companies, a 2012 national stand with 7 companies, and 2014 a trade mission with the participation of 12 companies. Thus, our country marks a record, with the number of participants in 2019 exceeding almost three times our most successful performance in past years.

Gulfood 2019 will present new services and innovations that reflect changes in consumer demand. The event will again welcome more than 5,000 exhibitors and 120 national pavilions presenting products in 8 sectors of the food industry: beverages; dairy products; fats and oils; legumes and cereals and crops; health, wellness & spa; meat and poultry; world-famous brands and foods from around the world.

Foreign ministers, government officials, world-renowned brands, new exhibitors and industry professionals have recognized Gulfood as a truly unique platform linking every aspect of the global food supply chain.

The global social and economic outlook for industry will be broadcast at the Innovation Summit.

Having gained international recognition for the depth of its supply as a strategic center for identifying and developing global food trade trends, Gulfood - Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) organizers have begun another round of innovations.

Parallel events and competitions will be held to demonstrate the trend in the industry by world-renowned chefs. Many of the largest kiosks are already involved in these events, including France, Germany, Spain, Japan and Brazil.

A Summit on Innovation will be held from 18 to 20 February 2019. It will provide a stage for a three-day discussion with the emergence of global social and economic prospects for the food industry.

The summit will include in-depth discussions and exclusive session sessions for questions and answers with world-renowned chefs, influential industry leaders on the challenges of introducing revolutionary concepts for local markets.

Barbecue makers

A two-day contest that will show US-style barbecued masters of UAE-based restaurants to compete in master classes. The contest won early support from American chef and Pitmaster Orelle Young from The Blacksmith Smokehouse Dubai, who believes that Gulfood can give the segment a much-favored boost.

Tea House

The concept aims to revitalize the beverage hall. Sponsored and organized by Tea Valley, the program will include performances by Moroccan dance professionals, a Chinese Tea Ceremony, as well as workshops and seminars exploring the health of tea, beverage basics and tea art.

Health Lab / Health Lab

The Health Lab is a major component of the show and will address the growing consumer demand for healthy ingredients and whole products, a movement identified as the main driver of global growth by the French producer of syrups and beverages Monin, who is participating in Gulfood for the 12th time . Monin plans to use Gulfood 2019 to release his new L range and Flavor de Monin, which includes natural and authentic concentrated fruit, herbal and spicy flavors without added sugar or sweeteners.

Start Up / Business Startup Program

The show's new program will show that more than 50 entrepreneurs from around the world demonstrate their growing penetration into the international food industry segment and will present a series of conferences focusing on start-ups in the sector.
