Albert Popov continues to write his history in the Alpine Ski World Cup. 21-year-old Bulgarian finished the phenomenal sixth place in the night slalom in Schladming and recorded a new record ranking among the best in the world.

So just three days after its incredible first entry into the top 10 of the most prestigious circuit, the Bulgarian skier showed that he will continue to enjoy great results.

Moreover, for the first time since March 20, 1985 Bulgarian entered the top 6 of the World Cup. Petar Popangelov ranked sixth in Park City.

The Bulgarian started with the 46th number and gave the 13th time after the first round. He skied very precisely and steadily in the second and finishes for 1:47:78 min, falling behind in 2.97 seconds by the winner Marcel Hirscher (Austria).

The second was the Frenchman Alexi Pinturo with 1:46:02 and the third was Daniel Yule with 1:46:41.

Popov's rise from the beginning of the season is striking. For the fourth and second consecutive time he enters the World Cup points. Before becoming the 9th in Kitzbühel, his best results were the 16th place in Madonna Di Campiglio and the 20th in Levi.

The next start of the Bulgarian is Sunday in the giant slalom in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He will then take part in the World Championship in Ore, Sweden, to be held between 4 and 17 February.
