Hundreds of artists will go on a 30-meter stage for the opening show of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019. The show will be on January 12 and its theme is "We Are All the Colors".
The stage of 6 levels will be erected on the central Plovdiv Boulevard "Tsar Boris III Obedinitel". The equipment for the show will arrive in Plovdiv with 20 trucks and 200 people will assemble the scene. Due to the construction of the tower and the podiums to it one of the main roads in the city will be closed days before the show. The boulevard itself is still in repair, but apparently the municipality hopes the work on it will end in time for the opening show. Some of the planned infrastructure projects in relation to Plovdiv 2019 have not even begun yet.
However, the opening plan is ready. The scene itself will weigh 200 kilograms and should give 360 degrees of visibility and so the spectacle can be seen by the people who are expected to fill the boulevards "Tsar Boris III Obedinitel" and "Maria Louisa". The Plovdiv 2019 Foundation expects up to 80,000 people to gather for the show. Because of security considerations on the stage out if 6 floors 5 will be used. On the floors of the stage will be placed screens and multimedia elements. With 350 luminaries, the tower will be transformed into a distinctive light symbol.
The tower has the capacity to accommodate 1500 artists at the same time and to give all spectators a good view of the show.
