Outcome of the case with the extradition of Zhelyaz Andreev and four other Bulgarians accused of violating the embargo on trade with Syria. The meeting was held between Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, US Ambassador Eric Rubin, Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov and Justice Minister Tsetska Tsacheva.

Sotir Tsatsarov, Chief Prosecutor: The US side will accept that this is not a matter of urgency, otherwise the detention of the persons will not proceed. However, this is only the first stage, the second stage is related to the fact that requests for extradition in essence with corresponding supporting documents should also be received within a certain period of time with the requests already made. Under our understanding, there are no legal prerequisites for the extradition of individuals.

Tsetska Tsacheva, Minister of Justice: We believe that there is no urgency, we expect, after we have already understood the US, to have written reluctance to make a preliminary arrest, hence, according to Article 20 of the treaty, we are in a regime of consultations with the countries, have already been mentioned - the Department of Justice and the Ministry and the relevant prosecutor's offices of the two countries.
