Bulgaria's outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva has said the collapse of the current cabinet does not bring about a demise of the Reformist Bloc (RB) coalition which she co-chairs.

The RB, a loose coalition of centrist and right-wing parties, was the junior coalition partner in the outgoing Bulgarian administration.

One of its members, Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) switched to opposition last December without leaving the bloc, but kept Petar Moskov, its Health Minister, within the government. DSB leader Radan Kanev now maintains his party is leaving the bloc to give way to a new political project.

In an interview with private bTV station, Kuneva admits it was the DSB's move to split that made the RB less effective over the last few years.

She has vowed to work for the RB's entry into Parliament in the event of new early general election.
