“My information is that this is not about tension inside the centre, but about tension created by groups of people who are not even residents of the neighbourhood. There are such people who want to show off with this kind of behaviour, they are radical, an election campaign is forthcoming which obviously aggravates the situation,” stated Interior Minister Bachvarova in Parliament.

In the last few days, there has been tension around the detention centre in Ovcha kupel. Residents and representatives of nationalistic political movements are getting ready for a protest on Friday evening, reported BTA

Sofia police is erecting check points in the neighbourhood. The aim is to avoid provocations during the protest. People will be checked for weapons and other prohibited items.

Sofia Directorate of the Ministry of Interior has received information that two groups of far right nationalists and skinheads will attempt to start a fight with the migrants. This is why the measures taken are very serious. The checks for alcohol, weapons and drugs will take place in the entire city and will start before 7.30 pm which is when the protest will begin.
