Bulgaria MPs Ratify Agreement on Syria Crisis Trust Fund

Parliament has ratified an agreement to set up a EU regional trust fund in response to the Syrian crisis.

By backing the ratification on a second reading, lawmakers also unlocked the EUR 0.1 M contribution Bulgaria has already pledged to make to the fund.

The EU Regonal Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis has reached a total volume of EUR 733 addressing issues related to refugees, but also focuses on non-humanitarian priority needs and may also be adapted to finance transition and reconstruction needs in a post-conflict Syria.

"Madad" is the Arabic name of the fund with the broad meaning of providing aid and help jointly with others.
