The International Monetary Fund's Managing Director Christine Lagarde will "do her best" to visit Bulgaria and make herself familiar with anti-smuggling effort and efforts toward judicial reform, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said on Thursday.

The visit will take place over the next few months, Borisov added while in London for an anti-corruption summit.

He told reporters he was impressed with the "self-criticism [and] determination" shown by world leaders, other officials, and experts at the first-of-a-kind summit working out a global response to corruption and illicit offshore financial dealings.

In Borisov's words, anti-smuggling effort was also on the agenda in order to explore options to synchronize measures taken at a national level.

He had earlier said his job at the event was to speak briefly about steps taken by the country to boost revenues into the treasury by thwarting smuggling - activities that have reportedly added billions to the state budget.

But after taking part in the forum, Borisov expressed his delight to see "how well-known [Bulgaria's] activities in the fight against smuggling are".

"I was prepared to outline data about billions we added to the budget, but these were among the strong points [set out by event speakers]."

Borisov also made clear he would support Britain's initiative to set up an international center on anti-corruption law.

Bulgaria's Prime Minister earlier met British counterpart David Cameron.
