Bulgaria’s PM Discussing Refugee Flow, Terrorism with Turkey’s Top Prosecutor

The refugee crisis in Europe, terrorist threats and the fight against organized crime have been on the agenda of a meeting of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Turkey’s Chief Public Prosecutor at the Supreme Court Mehmet Akarca in Sofia.

Borisov and Akarca agreed that state-level joint efforts are the only efficient measure to counter the threat of terrorist action, the Bulgarian government press ofiice said in a statement on Tuesday.

Borisov also highlighted Bulgaria’s efforts to tackle refugee flows and counter human trafficking, stressing on the need to expand cooperation among the partner law enforcement and security  agencies to achieve a greater degree of success.

Mehmet Akarca started a two-day official visit to Bulgaria on Tuesday. Meetings with Bulgaria’s President Rosen Plevneliev, Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov, as well as the ministers of the interior, justice and education are also on the agenda of the visit.
