Bulgaria's top male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov secured a tough victory over Federico Delbonis (Argentina), paving his way for a match against the world's No 2 Andy Murray.

Dimitrov won against Delbonis 7:6 (8), 4:6, 6:4, in a game that lasted 2 hours and 42 minutes. He had problems with the index finger of his right hand during the third set and asked for medical assistance.

The ATP website quotes Andy Murray as calling him "obviously a top-quality player" after the game against Delbonis, noting he "played a bunch of touch matches against him."

Dimitrov is currently No 28, having recently sunk two places down the ATP ranking.
