The works of more than fifty Bulgarian artists will be in the focus of the first edition of the Vienna Contemporary fair, which is taking place in the Austrian capital between Thursday and Sunday.

The Vienna Contemporary will exhibit works from 99 galleries, representing 25 countries ranging from Austria to East and West.

Vienna Contemporary, which has been identified as the most important international art fair in the Austrian capital, will take place at a new venue – the Marx Halle.

Discussions with artists and collectors, performances and a rich complementary programme are part of the first edition of Vienna Contemporary.

The first edition is organised by the team of Vienna Fair which has been held since 2005, daily Dnevnik informs.

Under its re-branded name, the organisers will continue to focus on art from Central and Eastern Europe, which has been a distinguishing feature of the festival.

Vienna Fair will also take place, but will be organised by a completely new team and will be held between October 8 and 11.
