’Even a Complete Greek Capitulation Would be a Dead End,’ Paul Krugman says

Nobel Prize winner in the field of Economics Paul Krugman has made his opinion regarding the new Greek bailout plan public.

In a piece published in the New York Times, he condemned the additional EUR 50 B loan and the proposed austerity policies.

This goes beyond harsh into pure vindictiveness, complete destruction of national sovereignty, and no hope of relief,’’ Krugman said. ‘’It is, presumably, meant to be an offer Greece can’t accept; but even so, it’s a grotesque betrayal of everything the European project was supposed to stand for.’’

He even questioned if the European project would be able to recover from the heavy blow.
