Bulgaria’s Govt Creates 5 Working Groups to Manage Preparations for 2018 EU Presidency

Bulgaria’s government has created five working groups to manage the preparation for the Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018.

“Priorities and Agenda of the Presidency” is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva, “Administrative Capacity” by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova, “Infrastructure, Logistics and Security” by Regional Development Minister Lilyana Pavlova, “Finance and Public Procurement” by Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov, and “Communication Strategy and Cultural Program” by Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov, according to reports of dnevnik.bg, based on a media statement of Bulgaria’s Culture Ministry.

The working groups will be in charge of the implementation of the measures within their sphere of competence included in the Preparation for the Bulgarian Presidency Plan.

Bulgaria will hold the rotating EU presidency in the second half of 2018, from July to December 2018.
