The return matches of the World Cup 2014 qualification playoffs for zone Europe will take place on Tuesday night.

Four teams will join the already qualified 9 for Brazil 2014, while the 4 losers will be left to watch the tournament from home.

Certainly the most glamorous name among those in danger of missing the World Cup is France. The French lost by 2:0 to Ukraine in Kiev on Saturday and are faced with the difficult task of making up for the deficit.

The last time they failed to qualify for a WC was in 1994.

The other intriguing fixture is Sweden against Portugal. Which one among Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the big tournament? This is the question on many people’s minds.

The Portuguese travel to Stockholm with a narrow 1:0 lead from their match in Lisbon on the weekend.

Greece are in pole position to qualify, after beating Romania 3:1 at home, and will be looking just to avoid a big defeat in Bucharest.

Surprise contenders Iceland will aim to qualify for their first ever WC. After a goalless encounter in Reykjavik, they travel to Croatia in a mission to defy the odds.

The European countries that have already booked their place for next summer are Germany, Italy, England, Spain, Belgium, Russia, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Netherlands.
