A police officer died on Thursday after falling off a bridge in Turkey’s Adana province the previous day, according to reports.

The police officer, Mustafa Sari, fell from the five-meter-high bridge during protests in Adana in support for the Gezi Park movement and was taken to a local public hospital, Hurriyet Daily News informs.

He became the fourth confirmed casualty related to the massive demonstrations in Turkey.
At least three other people have been killed and thousands injured in the unrest.

Demonstrators have been rallying in Istanbul, Ankara and other cities for a week, with many calling for the three-term prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to quit.

Erdogan is to return to Turkey from a foreign tour on Thursday as mass protests against his government's policies continue.
