Sofia University Opens New Foreign Language Library

Bulgaria's largest and most renowned higher education institution, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, has opened a new library.

The new library at the school's Department of Foreign Languages was formally inaugurated Monday, October 1, 2012, as part of the opening of the new academic year, by SU President Ivan Ilchev, Education Minister Sergey Ignatov, and Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.

The new library at SU's Foreign Language Department was funded with EU money from EU Operational Development Program worth a total of BGN 3 M.

The opening of the academic year at Sofia University also including laying flowers at the monuments of the school's first donors – wealthy 19th century traders, Bulgarian brothers – Evlogi Georgiev and Hristo Georgiev – whose statues are located at the entrance of the university's main building.
