Dimitar Berbatov's agent Emil Danchev has declared that his client will not be repaying the Italian club for the plane tickets they bought him before the striker changed his mind about playing in the Italian club.

Fiorentina sporting director, Daniele Prade recently stated that his club would ask the Bulgarian to reimburse them for travel expenses that were spent on him in the closing days of the summer transfer market.

"What about Fiorentina's request? It's an irrelevant question," Danchev has told Tuttomercatoweb.

"Why should we pay for the plane?... Juventus and Fiorentina were two options for Dimitar, but then he chose England and coach Jol's Fulham. A choice that satisfies us fully."

At the end of August, the now-former Manchester United player Berbatov was on a flight to Florence to sign with Fiorentina when it emerged that he had received an offer from Juventus while other football clubs in Europe were also showing interest in him.

The in-form forward eventually moved to Fulham, scoring two goals and making one assists in his first two full games at the club.
