Bulgaria will win one gold and three bronze medals at the upcoming Olympic Games in London, according to a formula developed by a British scientist.

Freestyle wrestling veteran Stanka Zlateva is to win the country's single gold medal, the formula has predicted, according to dnevnik.bg.

Three male wrestlers – Ivo Angelov, Elis Guri and Radoslav Velikov – are to grab the country's bronze medals.

Apparently, no other Bulgarian athletes are considered capable of a podium finish.

Williams, research assistant at The Tuck School of Business in New Hampshire, has predicted that Britain will win a record number of medals at the London 2012 Olympics, using an economic formula created after the 1996 Atlanta Games.

The hosts are expected to win a total of 62 medals, 25 of which gold. China is expected to win a total of 48 gold medals, followed by the US (35).

The figures are based on population, per capita income, past performances of the athletes and the advantage of hosting the games, The Daily Mail says.
