Bulgarian Govt Helicopter Takes Critical Patient to Sofia

A critical patient from Bulgaria's Danube city of Ruse has been transported to a hospital in Sofia with the helicopter of the Bulgarian government.

The government helicopter was dispatched at the orders of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.

The patient, 40-year-old Marin Marinov, a welder, from the northeastern town of Isperih, got injured in a work accident, a gas explosion, at a forage storage facility of the Agrotime firm in Isperih in which he got 85% body burns; he had spent a week in a hospital in Ruse before being moved to Sofia for treatment.

According to Dr. Stanimir Georgiev, Marinov's burns are very severe, and it would be best for him to be treated at National Center on Burns Treatment at the Emergency Pirogov Hospital in Sofia.

The helicopter of the Bulgarian government has been fully equipped for handling medical cases.
