The team of Ludogorets Razgrad became the winner of 2011-12's Bulgarian national football championship after a 1:0 home win against CSKA late Wednesday evening.

The game was special in being one of only three instances in the history of the Bulgarian national football championship, in which the champions are decided in a game in the final round, between the first two best ranked teams.

Before the game, CSKA Sofia was leading Bulgaria's A-group 69 points, followed by Ludogorets, with 67.

Thus CSKA could have won the championship even with a draw, but the Razgrad team needed a win.

After strong pressure by Ludogorets in the first minutes of the game, their goal came early in the 19th minute, after a free kick by Miroslav Ivanov.

After this, the Razgrad team made a very strong first half, then turning on the defensive during the second.

CSKA, albeit making a very strong second half and and executing a series of extremely dangerous attacks, could not return the goal.

The team of Ludogorets Razgrad, known to English readers as Crazy Forest (a possible literal translation of their name), made a spectacular first-ever season in Bulgaria's top tier A-group, winning both the cup and the championship.
