Bulgarian PM: May 1 Is for Real Workers, Not Whiny Socialists

Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov slammed an anti-government rally carried out Tuesday, and at the same time honored May 1, International Labor day

"I salute all workers for Labor Day and I am proud to be now among them," said Borisov, who visited road construction laborers working at the Lot 4 of Bulgaria's Trakiya Highway.

"There are more workers here than at the rally that the Socialists brought from all parts of the country to Sofia," quipped the PM.

At the protest, dubbed a "Day of Rage," socialist leaders criticized the Borisov cabinet for what they claimed is a misguided policy leading to a chronic impoverishment of Bulgarians.

"The socialists are just misleading people with their slogans about poverty and unemployment, and what have you. As I heard a worker here say, there is plenty of work to do, only if you actually want to work," explained Borisov.

According to the Bulgarian PM, Labor Day is better appreciated among those who actually labor and see the highway rising under than hands, than among disgruntled socialists in Sofia.
