Top Bulgarian Socialist Honors Journalists on International Women's Day

The leader of the opposition left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, and former Prime Minister, Sergey Stanishev, sent Thursday flowers to all female parliamentary reporters on the occasion of International Women's Day.

Stanishev, who is also the Chairman of the Party of the European Socialists, PES, is on a working visit to Berlin. On his behalf, the BSP press center offered to female journalists pale pink roses.

The left wing marked and mentioned the day on several occasions Thursday and several MPs offered flowers and chocolate candy to their female colleagues.

The ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, also honored the day by a children performance at the GERB MP Club, organized by Daniela Petrova, GERB MP and Chair of the Parliamentary Culture Committee.
