World Bank President Robert Zoellick has sent a congratulatory letter to Bulgaria's newly inaugurated President Rosen Plevneliev.

Bulgarians can be proud with their country's political and economic development over the last decades and Plevneliev's vision for the future can further Bulgaria's stable growth, Zoellick believes.

"I would like to assure you that the World Bank's Partnership Strategy with Bulgaria will remain focused on the global and European experience in dealing with challenges and will support the National Reform Program in its efforts to achieve an intelligent, sustainable and incorporated growth," Zoellick's letter has said, according to the BGNES news agency.

On Sunday, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Bulgarian government  and the World Bank.

The agreement was signed by Minister in Charge of EU Funds Management, Tomislav Donchev, and World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Philippe Le Houerou, at a high-profile ceremony in Sofia.
