Leading Bulgarian snowboarder Alexandra Jekova grabbed the second place in the World Cup bordercross race taking place in Veysonnaz, Switzerland Thursday.

Jekova, who had her 80th World Cup race, landed second already in qualifiers Wednesday, losing both times only to three-time world champion Lindsay Jacobellis (USA).

This is the Bulgarian snowboarder's 10th medal in a World Cup race, with a total of 2 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals.

It is of note that Alexandra achieved the remarkable performance even though she had to race having recently sustained an injury.

Jekova is now third in the overall snowboard bordercross World Cup rankings with 1200 points, Jacobellis being first with 2000 pt, followed by Canada's Dominique Maltais.
