As striker Dimitar Berbatov was not sold during the summer transfer window, his club Manchester United consider offering him a new 2-year contract, rumors say.

If Berbatov signs, his  weekly wage would increase from GBP 80 000 to GBP 120 000, it has been further reported.

The Bulgarian hitman has repeatedly stated he is willing to stay with the Red Devils, even though he has been spending most of his time on the bench lately.

"There is no news because we have not heard anything from anyone," Berbatov's agent Emil Dantchev has told Goal.com before adding that his client was happy to stay at Old Trafford.

Despite numerous reports that Berbatov would leave the team very soon, Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson, has stated the player is not for sale as he insists on using him during the  season.

PSG were reported on several occasions as hoping to sign Berbatov during the summer transfer window, together with the likes of Valencia, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Malaga and Russian billionaires Anzhi Makhachkala.

Goal.com has pointed out that United have been extremely busy over the last 12 months tying other players to new deals, adding that he likes of Antonio Valencia, Park Ji-Sung, Patrice Evra, Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick and Ryan Giggs have all signed contract extensions in the last year.
