Bulgaria's Industry Producer Prices Up by 12.1% March 2011 y/y

Bulgaria's producer price index in the domestic Market grew by 12.1% year on year March 2011, according to the country's National Statistical Institute.

The domestic prices increased in the mining and quarrying industry by 15.0%, in manufacturing by 12.7% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 10.8%.

In manufacturing, compared to the same month of 2010, a price increase was registered in the manufacture of basic metals by 20.4%, in the manufacture of food products by 15.6%, in the manufacture of textiles by 10.4%. A price reduction was seen in the manufacture of tobacco products by 9.3% and in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products by 3.7%.

On a monthly basis, the Bulgarian producer price index in the domestic market in March 2011 rose by 1.0%.

Domestic prices went up in the manufacturing by 1.9%, in the mining and quarrying industry prices fell by 4.1%, and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply the prices remained at the level of the previous month.

In manufacturing, the more significant prices increases comparing to the previous month were seen in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products by 2.2%, in the manufacture of food products by 1.8%, in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 1.6%, while in the manufacture of basic metals the prises decreased by 1.7%.
