The Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, has at least 10 presidential candidates, who are better than any of the likely nominations of the ruling GERB party, BSP leader, Sergey Stanishev declares.

Stanishev spoke during the forum of local socialist leaders, mayors and municipal councilmen, gathered in Sofia to discuss the upcoming local and presidential elections and ways to counter the ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party of Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

The BSP leader, however, stopped short of revealing any particular names. The ones most discussed by the participants, in personal conversations, were, once again, those of ex Foreign Minister and current Member of the European Parliament (MEP), Ivaylo Kalfin, MP Petar Korumbashev, and former Regional Minister and current Mayor of the southern city of Blagoevgrad, Kostadin Paskalev.

Stanishev presented the schedule of the most important events for the Socialists until the elections and advised his followers to offer promises during their campaigns, but abstain from lies.

Some of the most important tasks include - organizing a country-wide protest around May 1, and working on securing the most possible votes from people who are not affiliated with BSP and do not support the Socialist idea.
