Temperatures will drop considerably Sunday evening and overnight over the whole of Bulgaria, setting the stage for a comeback of winter after a stint of warm days.

Next week might be the coldest one for winter 2010-11 for some parts of the country, after cold air and snow sweep in from the northeast.

The transfer of cold air will continue through Monday, when lows will be measured not in the morning as usual, but in the evening.

Morning temperatures Monday are expected to be around -3 to -2 degrees Celsius, while evening temperatures could fall as low as -7.

Lows for Tuesday are expected to be from -10 to -5 degrees C, while highs up to 2-3 C.

Beginning of March Bulgarians traditional celebrate the imminent coming of spring, with rituals such as the giving and wearing of martenitsas, the kukeri rites, and the Sirni Zagovezni holiday.
